Breaking the Barrier

It's so frustrating when one tries to do his best yet it doesn't seem to be enough. At least one thinks he does his best.

The results of the self-tests I've been taking are very disappointing yet very telling. They reveal a constant score of 58 to 62 out of a hundred. Dismal. I've taken almost 1000 questions and 58 to 62 out of every hundred of those comes to... NOT EVEN CLOSE TO READY. I am thankful though. At least I know where I stand...or wobble. This evidently shows that I should work triply hard on the content now that d-day is fast approaching. I refuse to believe that I have hit my intellectual ceiling but it sure feels that way because fo the results. Breaking the mediocre barrier will be difficult but I know that I'm up to the challenge.

busy, busy, busy

I've been very busy lately. Between school, studying and looking for a job...it's been really hectic. I have to say that whoever planned or integrated hospital duty during the final semester should be fired. I barely knew January and here comes February ready to go into mid swing. Talk about fast paced.
Now, I have my priorities straight and the only thing to do is follow-through on my plans. I'm afraid my batting average regarding "follow-through's" is as bad as my forehand follow-through's. This reminds me, I haven't been to a tennis court in ages. After ALL OF THIS is over or when I get the time and the resources, the first thing I'd do is visit my sanctuary and beat the heck out of a ball. I can't wait.

Of gallbladders and gallstones

This picture was taken on my 2nd assist from a cholecystectomy procedure. I tell yah, I was so EXCITED. My first foray in the OR as a scrub was a cesarean delivery. Boy, was the procedure quick. I think it took less than 20 minutes from the first cut to the last stitch.
That gallstone is a whopper. I've seen others now but this one still tops the charts sizewise.

Exam Time!

I have a prelim exam in less than three days and I haven't even covered half of the material. To say that I'm in trouble is an understatement. I plan on sleeping just a couple of hours tonight so I could at least be half ready for the exam before its way too late.

Why I'm spending time writing this log when my time would be better spent memorizing and understanding the inner workings of the heart and the GIT is beyond me. So....
